Seventh Day in Guangzhou - Medical Visit

I got this domestic thing down, made noodles and PB&J for lunch!  Other than missing Addi and Ry, I could last another month.  Well…  okay I miss all of you… need to get back to our jobs… need a BIG MAC and Coke with ice!!  Hmmm… taco bell, pizza with sauce… Okay, maybe it’s time to come home! :)

We had the kiddos medicals today.  They went well.  Our family and another family with Lifeline were the only ones there!!  This sped everything up!  What a praise!  We need to have their eyes checked.  Greyson’s may have just been his crazy personality, not sure exactly what he truly saw.  Kristyn, on the other hand, has a lazy eye and very bad sight on that side.  We need to get her home and checked out to see what can be done.  Both of them need to be evaluated for cerebral palsy.  Kristyn’s left side is weaker, just like Meilynn, but she is VERY mobile!  Greyson is weaker overall.  It was evident today, at the checkup, that he had NO education.  He has no idea how to write anything, he doesn’t identify shapes, couldn’t quite count on his fingers.  He can answer questions and trace with his finger.  We really just think he wasn’t given any experiences at all.  It will take a lot of effort to evaluate where he is at and attempt to get him caught up.  It is always so difficult when you have one child who was given opportunities and experiences and another that wasn’t.  We dealt with this when we got Addi and Ry.  We stand amazed at how far Addi has come and pray we see similar progress with Greyson.

Please pray with us that both of our kiddos’ TB tests come back negative tomorrow!  We may not get the results until Monday, but I am praying to get them sooner!  There have been situations where a false positive test results in one parent and child staying in China for an unknown amount of time (can be up to six weeks).  I do love China, but don’t want to try and figure out where to come up with spending money and the cash to stay here and pay for accommodations for that long.  :(   Praying TB tests come back negative tomorrow!

When we ventured out this evening, we got a new experience.  There was a boxing ring set up in the hotel lobby this morning.  We got to see the Mayu Thai Experience.  Basically, a choreographed exhibition of the evolution of boxing.  It was pretty cool and started with a martial arts kind of show.  Definitely not something one would expect in the lobby of a five star hotel, where I ALWAYS feel under-dressed walking through the lobby.  Cool experience none the less. ;)

We decided to try something different... Burger King!  It was nice to find a "new" place to eat.  They had chicken fries, which made Brayden very happy!  It was pretty neat inside.  Kristyn was so tired she literally fell out of her chair.  She just leaned over and plop.  She was fine, just tired, on one of those higher chairs, and lost her balance.  Needless to say, she got a stroller ride home.  Greyson was a little upset, until he found out mom would carry him.  He was all smiles then!  Once we got back, we tried out the double stroller. :)

Tomorrow, we do some touring again.  We will go the Chen Family Academy (art exhibition) that we have been to three times already, but know the kiddos will enjoy it and we will buy our newest two their own chops (stamp with Chinese name) there and the Pearl Market, to buy wedding pearls for Kristyn.
