Third Day in Guangzhou- Kristyn's Gotcha!

Today was perfect in every way!!

We were all a little stir-crazy today!  We couldn't wait to meet Kristyn, but knew that we had until late afternoon.  I woke up with a horrible headache and queasy stomach.  Prayer works!  I began to feel better after breakfast.  We decided to wander around the garden today and take some pre-Kristyn pics.  Greyson LOVES the waterfall!  He can't wait until breakfast hoping we can sit and watch the waterfall and fish.  The hotel is named "The Garden" due to the beautiful landscape and flower themes throughout.

Then, when we were heading back to the room, one of the hotel personnel found us and showed us the room we had requested.  It had a king bed and two double beds.  However, in the space of our current living room they had a dining room for 4 (currently ours fits 8), kitchenette (complete with compact washer/dryer in one machine), and living room (one small couch).  We decided to give up the ideal sleeping arrangement for space!!  Our kiddos were so happy about our choice!  So, back to the apartment and we tried to occupy our time with chores, playing, and preparation.  We walked to McDonalds for our final lunch as a family of 7.

Finally, at 2 pm we met in the lobby to take off for the Civil Affairs building to meet Kristyn!!  When we arrived, it took Mark and I back, this was our third trip to this building for a sweet girl (Meilynn and Addisyn, now Kristyn)!  While waiting for the elevator, in she came!  We weren't allowed to "meet her", but we definitely oogled and took pics!  She was so quiet.  We let them ride first, since we were not to be in the same elevator as her.  Then, we sat in the waiting room and filled out the paperwork necessary to officially meet our child.  Out she came and we hurried over to meet her.  She said, "Mama" and "Baba".  She took our hands and walked back to the couch.  She showed us all of her school stuff, she had lots of papers.  She knows some English words.  Then, we gave her a treat and drink we brought (as well as one for Greyson).  We brought out the stuffed animal and doll we brought.  She showed us the album we gave her in a care package and doll she was sent.  I had a chance to ask the nanny some questions, though they have answered so thoroughly that there wasn't much I needed to know.  SHE IS SO SWEET!!!  By the time we left, she wanted to be picked up (and she is a heavy thing) and hugged and kissed.  She was well taken care of!  She is well fed.  I know enough phrases in Chinese to be confusing.  I can communicate hunger, bathroom needs, follow, etc.  but then she tries to talk to me.  Poor thing, this has to be confusing for her.  I will write more as we learn more.  But know that prayers were answered and it was a VERY SMOOTH transition!  SO HAPPY TO HAVE 8 KIDDOS!!! :)
Waiting for our chance to officially meet Kristyn
